I am just back from a lovely break in California and during a brief three days in Los Angeles, I was lucky enough to spend some time at the wonderful Soho House in West Hollywood. In my opinion, the interior design is brilliant – a perfect combination of fabulous and inviting, trendy and relaxed (actually the whole experience manages to achieve this, not just the interior). I was very impressed. Naturally they don’t allow photography so these images are taken from their website, with thanks. More infomation at http://www.sohohousewh.com.

Film Friday – A Single Man

I’ve got a bit of a confession to make. I haven’t yet watched this week’s Film Friday entry – A Single Man. It has been on my ‘must see’ list for months due to the fact that it was A) directed by Tom Ford, B) stars Colin Firth and C) well, there’s no need for another reason really is there?! So I had planned to watch it this week but I just clean ran out of time. I was going to choose another film to feature here instead, but after doing a bit of image research into A Single Man and uncovering these fantastic film stills I thought I would share them anyway. How great is George’s apartment (a John Lautner-designed modernist house in California)? Serious house envy.
So I have put the film back onto my ‘must see’ list for this weekend, and in the mean time it’s over to Cate, who has seen the movie, several times, to explain what she loves about the film. “What do I love about this film? – I love Colin Firth and all the interiors. In that order.”
So there you have it. We’d love to hear what you thought about the film – feel free to leave us a comment below.
