I attended a wonderful brunch event at Catesbys (Green Street, opposite Bills) this morning and the company, the breakfast but most importantly, their current stock, was all a delicious delight. I highly recommend a visit for a browse at their home furnishings and accessories followed up by a restorative visit to their first floor café. Thank you Neil and Jonathan, look forward to seeing you soon. X

food salad pecan ice cream

Spring cleaning has hit Angel and Blume (not noticeably yet I admit but clearing out has started) and I was going through old copies of magazines and pulling out the best bits before chucking them out and have discovered that not only are the recipes in Homes and Gardens beautifully presented (would you expect anything else) but also that they work! I have so far tried two and both have been delicious and as I fully admit that I am no culinary genius, this is a very good hit rate. They also seem to have many of their recipes on their website which is rather marvellous, especially for those of us who may need inspiration immediately for imminently visiting guests! I can highly recommend Patty Pan Squash and Prawn Curry – really delicious – and Pecan Brittle Ice Cream. Just call me Cate Martha Stewart Burren.
