The Holiday is a film of two lives. And two very different houses. On the one hand you have Kate Winslet’s chocolate box English country cottage and on the other hand you have Cameron Diaz’s sprawling LA mansion. Hmmm, let me compare them; a small, dark cramped cottage stuffed with ornaments and clutter or a cool, contemporary modernist apartment bathed in Californian sunshine. Really, is there any contest? No, I don’t think so, which is why Amanda’s LA house is my choice for Film Friday. So grab yourself a cup of tea and a biscuit and take a tour.
